The pilgrimage corresponds to the novena and feast day of Our Lady of Buen Suceso of the Purification. These days are from January 23 to February 2. Our pilgrimage intention is the restoration of Tradition in the Church particularly within the religious communities. We will also include the intentions of the Convent of the Immaculate Conception.
Each day, there is a dawn procession with a statue of Our Lady of Buen Suceso of the Purification. This procession goes to various religious communities and churches. Outings are arranged for the various days of the pilgrimage. Many of these sites will be museums and churches of the old city of Quito.
A note from the United States SSPX Third Order Chaplain, Fr. Adam Purdy:
As with the last couple years, a pilgrimage is scheduled for January 23 - February 2 to Quito, Ecuador. This pilgrimage is centered on the Shrine of Our Lady of Buen Suceso of the Purification. In the past, this pilgrimage was announced as a Third Order pilgrimage even though anyone may attend. The intention was to provide an opportunity for tertiaries to meet each other and the chaplain, and to join in a great spiritual work.
Many of you have seen flyers for various pilgrimages and I am sure you imagine that one day, maybe after winning the lottery, you would be able to attend. Compared with all other pilgrimages, this is by far the cheapest! Look into the attached brochure for details.
Some pilgrims have commented this is the best pilgrimage they have made. Many pilgrims are returning year after year because it is so beautiful. In my opinion, it has both the spiritual edification like a retreat and the social feel of a vacation - a good balance of prayer and recreation.
I hope that many of you are able to attend
